Having done some work in AutoCAD 3D, I found that I was more at home with Rhino than I was with Aspire. If I had not had any 3D CAD experience before buying the Cobra, I would have probably gone with Aspire. I already was using Rhino before I ever thought of getting into CNC milling, so to me, the choice was obvious and easy. With both Rhino and MadCam (4-axis) together, you end up at around $2200 which is coincidentally close enough to what Aspire costs so that cost may not be a factor in your choice (Aspire includes an integrated CAM output feature). There's RhinoCam, but a bit expensive, so I went with MadCam, now quite a powerful CAM program that works from within Rhino. I plan to draw, duplicate and cut wall plaques and art (flat on the back).With Rhino, yes, you do need to buy an add-on for CAM output. Are you guys saying that if I get Rhino 3D that I have to also get CAM software to produce a file format my stinger can run? Does Rhino 3D not export a file format that can be imported directly into Wincnc? I have a Stinger 1 and VCarve pro w/Wincnc. I also am looking for a more useful CAD software.
